Eastern Redbud Front & Center

Eastern Redbud

“Good things come in small packages” is a saying that ‘Forest Pansy’ Redbud exemplifies. It is a variety of eastern redbud that plant breeders have been paying more attention to, intensifying the charms of this once modest ornamental tree.

It ‘performs’ wonderfully throughout the season. Just look at the attached pictures of its exuberant blossoms before leaves emerge in early spring, followed by bold purple leaves during the season, and ending with buttery yellow fall colors . Decorative dark brown seed pods sometimes hang on the bare branches into winter.

Since it only grows to about twenty feet tall, it can fit well into many landscape settings for good effect.

Time For Pruning Trees Where Needed

You do not want to be caught with troubled, weak crotches or branching in any of your trees during any winter. Wind and ice storms could devastate the trees as well as cause serious damage to other plantings, your home, internet, and electrical wires.
